Earth and a bounty of food
Bill Marler

Our Story

Food Safety News was founded in 2009 during a challenging time for journalism. As print and broadcast media faced consolidation and steep budget cuts, dedicated reporters covering food, health, and safety were being reassigned or losing their positions altogether.

Food safety attorney Bill Marler recognized an opportunity to address this critical gap. He assembled a team of talented journalists and provided them with the resources necessary to deliver unparalleled reporting on food safety issues. What began as a response to declining coverage has evolved into the industry's most trusted source for food safety news.

Today, our original, in-depth reports are published daily, complemented by contributed articles and opinion pieces from food safety leaders across every sector of the industry. Our reporters have earned access to the White House, the Supreme Court, and important Congressional offices alongside the nation's leading newspapers and media networks.
