Chetak LLC Group has initiated a recall of its Deep brand frozen sprouts because they have beed determined to be the source of a Salmonella outbreak.
Routine testing by the Food and Drug Administration found the Salmonella Anatum contamination. Whole genome testing showed that the Deep brand frozen sprouts were contaminated with the same strain of Salmonella as has infected the outbreak patients.
There is concern that consumers may still have the recalled frozen sprouts in their home freezers. Consumers can use the following information to identify the recalled sprouts. For photos of the products click here.

IN 24330, IN 25072, IN 25108, IN 24353, IN 25171,

IN 24354, IN 24292 - Deep-brand Sprouted Moong (Mung) in 1 LB (454 g) packages with the following lot codes printed on the back side of the bag:
IN 24330, IN 25072, IN 25108, IN 24353, IN 25171,
IN 24297, IN 25058, IN 25078, IN 24291, IN 25107,
IN 24354, IN 24292
The recalled Deep brand frozen sprouted mat (moth) beans and frozen sprouted moong (mung) beans were distributed nationwide in retail stores and through mail orders.
Steps to avoid cross contamination
- Consumers, restaurants, and retailers should not eat, sell, or serve recalled Deep-brand frozen sprouted mat (moth) beans and frozen sprouted moong beans.
- Consumers, restaurants, and retailers who purchased or received the recalled products, should carefully clean and sanitize any surfaces or containers that they touched.
- Wash hands, utensils, and surfaces with hot, soapy water before and after handling the recalled products. Follow FDA’s safe handling and cleaning advice and use extra care in cleaning and sanitizing any surfaces and containers that may have come in contact with these products to reduce the risk of cross-contamination.
