Giant Instant Oatmeal recalled for undeclared walnuts

Vaughan Mills Packaging Ltd. of Concord, Canada, is recalling its Giant Instant Oatmeal Raisins and Spice because of undeclared walnuts, a known allergen, which was not listed on the outer packaging but was included on the inner packaging of the product.

The recall, initiated on April 4, 2025, is classified as a Class II recall, indicating a low risk of serious health consequences, though temporary or reversible effects may occur. The recall remains ongoing, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The recalled products were distributed to retail locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and Washington, D.C.

Recalled product:

Giant Instant Oatmeal Raisins and Spice: 10 – 1.5 oz. packets per box, Net Wt. 15.01 oz.

As of the posting of this recall, no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported in connection with this product.

Consumers with walnut allergies or sensitivities are urged not to consume the product.
